SUNDAY: BROGUES AND PRINTS.

A very grown up four year old.

It looked sunny outside so I thought I'd risk it with another customised find from my Grandma’s wardrobe. The shirt is beautiful Italian silk. There was a big rip in one of the sleeves but it has such an amazing pattern I couldn't bear to part with it, so I took to my sewing machine - removing both sleeves. I could have done with the sleeves today; it’s not as warm out as it looked!
The skirt is M&S and bought from Oxfam on Cowley Road. My lambswool is a great alternative to fur, and a bargain at just £2 from the Oxfordshire car boot sale I dragged my boyfriend to at 8am on a Saturday morning. My beautiful aqua glass ring is a new buy from Oxfam’s collection of Fair Trade jewellery.
The shoes are Church’s brogues, bought from Oxfam Hove at one of their incredible vintage weekends. Twice a year Oxfam Hove close up, restock and open a vintage boutique full of incredible Brighton Lanes worthy stock. It is definitely worth queuing outside the door before they open. It's vintage heaven!
The bag was my mum’s. It was her “going-away” handbag after her wedding. It lived in our dressing up box at home until I went to visit, forgot my favourite black handbag, and fished it out. It came home with me and we’ve lived together ever since. I’ve appropriated a beautiful handknit shawl and a pair of vintage lace gloves from that box too. Which I guess means I’m literally wearing the same clothes I did when I was four.
