Our fabulously ecological bicycle was chosen by Simon Usborne in The Independent as one of ‘The 50 Best Bicycles’ (8 March): ‘If you thought a bicycle couldn’t be greener, think again.  The Californian firm Calfee has developed a range made not from carbon fibre but heat-treated bamboo.  Complete with knobbly bits, the custom-made frames are joined with hemp and sealed with tung oil.  This roadbike looks and rides like the real thing and is guaranteed for ten years.
