Despite my dislike of the cold January chill, there is one plus side – the weather allows for extensive wearing of vintage winter coats and capes. This particular reversible beauty was located at a charity shop stall at the Big Chill music festival two summers ago. I enjoyed the music, but the racks of second hand ‘dressing up’ wares even more. I left (or rather staggered out) with an empty purse and much, much heavier bags. The current glut of grey days calls for the brightest colours possible, and so I added this A-line skirt from a vintage shop on Brick Lane and a belt that belonged to my grandma (she has had a rich and varied life, including a former existence as an actress in the 60s and 70s – explaining her wonderful wardrobe). The top and shoes were located in charity shops, and the jewellery is vintage.
I spent too much of the day procrastinating (although at least the hours spent writing were constructive!) ahead of looming revision for exams. However, I also managed a tramp across some fields – minus the heels.
